I didn’t realise until recently that all YouTube users can upload videos over 15 minutes in length by simply verifying their account. This is really handy if you’ve put together a long edit from a holiday or something similar, and want to be able to share it with your friends and family.

To verify your account, open the video upload page at www.youtube.com/upload and click the ‘Increase your Iimit’ link. You can then choose between receiving a verification code via text message or an automated phone call. Once you’ve entered the code, you’ll be able to upload videos up to 11 hours in length and 128GB in size! You can also enable any rejected videos you uploaded before verifying the account by selecting ‘Activate this video’ in your Video Manager.
