How To Find your lost or stolen Android device

You can now locate a lost or stolen Android device using Google Maps. For this to work you need to be signed into Google using the same account as the one you use for your phone or tablet. On your device, enable Location services in Settings. You also need to open the Google Settings app. tap Security and check that ‘Remotely locate this device‘ and ‘Allow remote lock and erase' are both enabled.

To locate your device. go to www.google.com on your PC. type find my phone or find my tablet into the search box and press Enter. Re-enter your Google password if prompted and allow Android Device Manager to use location data. You'll see a map at the top of the search results which. after a few seconds. will show your device’s location. For a full map with further options. click your device. if it’s nearby you can click Ring to help you track it down. Alternatively. you can click Lock or Erase to block access or delete all data. Click the target icon to re-locate your device if it has moved.
