How To Fix Nexus 4 won’t upgrade
This is not an uncommon problem and fixing it may require a little bit of force (although the roll out dates for updates tends to for different customers, so patience can work). Don’t worry – you won’t break your Nexus with this method but it should do the trick even if you have to try it a few times.
Some people have reported having to perform this more than six times or more before the upgrade process will begin successfully so don’t give up. If at first you don’t succeed, you know the drill. To get things moving, go to Settings and navigate to Apps>All>Google Services Framework. Tap Force Close and the Clear Data and Clear Cache options. Accept the Google Services prompt if it asks for one.
At this point, it is worth restarting your device and then attempting to retry the update. Go back into Settings>System Update>Update Samsung Software. Click on Check Now. Your navigation links may be slightly different to this but not so that it would cause you any problems. You may find the update is now under About and System Update.
Whether or not you will have the same issue when Google releases further updates to the Android operating system we’re not sure, but this method should hopefully resolve those future issues too. Good luck, and let us know how you get on!
