How To Fix Outlook not checking spelling

The most likely reason that this happens is because you have a signature block. Outlook does not bother checking spelling in this area as signatures are used mainly for people’s names, and these don’t usually appear in the dictionary.

If you have more text in your signature and you want to check it, the easiest way is to copy all the text into an area that can be checked, spellcheck and correct the spelling, then leave well alone. However, if you’ve already written a message and realise you need to check the spelling of the signature, you can force Outlook to check the spelling. Select the whole message and click the drop-down arrow on the Spelling button on the Office Ribbon. Select Set Language and untick the ‘Do Not Spell’ option. It will then check the spelling of the whole message.
