How To Remove the region lock from your Samsung Galaxy Note 3
There has been some controversy of late around the revelation that Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 3
includes a new ‘region lock’. The bottom line is that it’s a new ‘feature’ introduced by Samsung to help reduce the instances where phones are sold in the regions they weren’t intended for. It’s a plan that isn’t limited to the Note 3, it will also be included in many other Samsung models, both existing and new, going forward. If this affects you, respected Samsung hacker Chainfire, author of other great Samsung tools such as TriangleAway, has a solution. His new free application, RegionLock Away, removes this lock so you can use your device with SIM cards from unapproved regions. This is of course useful for travellers wanting to use local SIMs. The app is available from http://forum.xda-developers.com/.
How to get Flash Player back in SamsungGalaxy Note 2
You do not need to root your Note 2 to do this and it should work straight away, even in full screen mode. The Chrome browser is not supported so try to use either the stock Android browser or another third-party solution for your Flash-related activities. Boat Browser, available for free from Google Play, has also received many plaudits for its ability to handle Flash Player and so this could be a worthwhile download to ensure everything works as you want it to. As time passes, Flash Player will become even less supported and it is likely that websites will update their content so that it is not needed anyway. Until that time, though, at least there are still viable solutions that will keep Flash working for most Android users, and they are not difficult to achieve in the slightest.
