How To use the new Opera Mini browser

The free Opera Mini web browser app (Android: bit.ly/opera iOS: apple.co/opera) has recently been updated with a number of new features. including a redesigned interface. Open the app to see the ‘Speed dial' a list of tiles for websites that you can tap to open. You can add any of your favourite websites to this list by tapping the ‘+ ’ symbol at the bottom, then typing the website’s URL.

On Android. below these tiles you'll see all the latest news stories. On iOS,swipe to the right to access this section (called Discover). These stories are gathered from 13 news categories (including Business. Entertainment. News. Science. Sports and Technology). Tap the cog icon to see all the categories, then tap those you want to exclude from your news feed.

Start typing a search term or website name in the search bar at the top and you‘ll see a list of relevant results. which you can tap to open. By default. Opera Mini compresses your data, which is particularly handy if your mobile plan comes with a limited data allowance. Click the red ‘0’ icon at the bottom of your screen to see how much data the app has saved you compared with other mobile browsers.
