How To Make Skype calls from Outlook.com

You can now make a Skype video call to him directly from  Outlook.com email account and that you didn’t need a PC with Skype installed on it. It’s a new feature that was already available in the UK, but is now available worldwide. It took me five minutes to set up on the hotel computer.

You first need to download the Skype for Outlook plug-in. Sign in to Outlook.com then go to http://www.skype.com/Outlook/Plugin and click the ‘Get the Skype plugin’ button. Follow the steps until the setup is complete, then click ‘Let’s get started’ to go to your Outlook inbox. Click the top right messaging icon (beside the Settings icon  see screenshot), click ‘Skype contacts’, ‘I have a Skype account’, enter your Skype username and password and then click ‘Sign in’. Click Continue to
merge your Skype and Outlook accounts.

To make a Skype call from within Outlook, click the messaging icon. Click a contact, then tap the camera icon at the top to start a video call. Click the buttons at the bottom to switch your camera, turn off your video, chat and end the call.
