How To Add Tracks You Hear To Your Spotify Playlists On iOS And Android Phones

Shazam, the free app that identifies songs playing around you, has now been updated with Spotify integration. This means you can now identify songs you hear (on the radio or TV, for example). then instantly add them to one of your Spotify playlists.

First, install Shazam (Android: bit.ly/1dO3SyH; iOS: apple.co/1Cr9CKN) and  if you haven‘t already Spotify (Android: bit.ly/1Rm0BsX; iOS: apple.co/1eIK5l1). Register free for both apps (if this is the first time you’re using them).

To identify a song you hear, simply open Shazam, then tap the big S symbol within the circle at the top and hold your device close to the source of the song. Once the app identifies your song, tap the ‘+’symbol at the top right, then tap ‘Add to Spotify Playlist’ at the bottom (see screenshot above). The first time you do this, you’ll need to tap Connect, ‘Log in to Spotify’, log into your account, then tap Okay.

You’ll now see all your Spotify playlists within Shazam. Simply tap the playlist you want to add your song to.
