Paranoid Android
A superslick and great-looking ROM that does things slightly differently, and offers an extra quick Android experience that’s not afraid to do things differently from the rest.

CyanogenMod
Probably the best known ROM and definitely the easiest to install. Use the CyanogenMod installer available from the developer’s website and you’ll have it up and running in no time.

AOKP
A slick alternative to CyanogenMod, AOKP is easy to set up and features plenty of neat tricks that can speed up your performance. It’s regularly updated too, and it’s really nice and simple to use.

P.A.CTrueAll
An older ROM that collates features from others on this list and streamlines them a little. Not superslick, but it is pretty quick. Check that your device is supported though.

Slim Bean
A pared back ROM that cuts out a lot of the special features that other ROMS showcase and keeps things nice and simple instead. It’s not as slick as some, but it’s still neat and easy to use.
